With 36% of all marketers apparently finding a customer via Twitter in 2013 and 52% via Facebook, it is definitely worthwhile making social media part of your marketing strategy. And don’t forget Google+! Ignoring Google+ is not a good idea because your engagement on it is believed to correlate with your website’s ranking. Posting your blog items onto Google+ can help get them indexed quickly.
There are some good Twitter tools available to help you. I like to use Tweriod to find out when my followers are online, Twopcharts to track Twitter users and also Followerwonk which helps you find the most influential users for your sector. There are loads of tools out there to use, and you could spend all day on just analysing Twitter. I suggest spending some time once a week or so to do some research and make the most of your account.
If you are confused and already exhausted by all this, then you can always get some help to run your social media presence. Why not email me (Caroline) to discuss the options. Being sociable is not just for a weekend!
